Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
Weekly skills group provides a combination of targeted prevention and caregiver capacity building using effective and evidence-based treatment to reduce some of the more risky behaviours, emotional reactivity, and conflict-based interactions that individuals and families may be struggling with.
Anyone can refer. Gateway to service is through the Talk-In Clinic. Call or see website for details. Admission to the program requires pre-screening criteria to be met.
Strict criteria for admission includes: suicidal survivor, self-harm and/or pervasive suicidal ideation within the last year and any of the following: frequent impulsive behaviour, emotional dysregulation or interpersonal conflict impacting effective participation at home, school, work. Youth must be willing to meeting with a clinician at minimum once monthly and have one caregiver willing to attend every session.
